Te Ataarangi ki Te Upoko-o-te-Ika

Te Ataarangi ki te Upoko-o-te-Ika a Māui is a vibrant reo Māori movement dedicated to the revitalisation of te reo Māori across our rohe – from the capital city of Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington), through to Te Papa-i-Oea (Palmerston North/Manawatū), across the Wairarapa region and reaching as far as Tāmaki-nui-a-Rua (Dannevirke).

Grounded in kaupapa Māori values and driven by the power of whanaungatanga, we create welcoming spaces for learners of all backgrounds to grow in their reo Māori journey. Whether you're just beginning or deepening your understanding, we support you through immersive, intergenerational learning that reflects the essence of Te Ataarangi.

Ngā Kaupapa

Our kaupapa is focused on creating accessible, immersive learning experiences rooted in aroha for te reo and te ao Māori. We deliver a variety of classes, events, and wānanga across the region that cater to different levels of reo Māori proficiency.

We aim to build confident, connected reo Māori speakers who carry the kaupapa proudly within their homes, workplaces, and communities.
